Cellists and Violinists—Greenville, South Carolina

Upstate Wedding Trio— Greenville, SC

The Upstate Wedding Trio is a great choice if you need a single string player, or two string players with piano. Sarah Rogers/violin, and Sarah Plyler/cello have been trained at two of the state's premiere arts schools— the Greenville Fine Arts Center, and SC Governor's School. If you have your wedding music planned and need a soloist, or you need someone to play the Pachelbel Canon, then contacting Sarah Plyler or Sarah Rogers would be a great start. Or perhaps you want the whole trio, which includes pianist Don Shabkie, whom you can find elsewhere on this site.

To help you make your decision, feel free to listen these artists play selections of violin and cello favorites. Just go to the links that say "listen". Also, at the bottom of the page you will find a testimonial from a recent wedding.

Sarah Plyler is an active chamber musician in the Upstate area of South Carolina. She has studied music in Germany, Austria, and the United States. Locally she has performed at the Peace Center, the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, and various churches. A graduate of the SC Governor’s School and Georgetown University, Sarah has played for weddings and other events for the past fifteen years.

Presently she plays regularly for the Trinity Presbyterian Church chamber ensemble on Sunday mornings, and performs occasionally at the Westin Poinsett Hotel. In fact this photo shows Sarah playing at the Westin Hotel, accompanied by Don Shabkie.

A senior at the Greenville Fine Arts Center, Sarah Rogers has presented solo recitals, and played in numerous performances in the area. She plays first violin for the Trinity Presbyterian Church ensemble, and appears there many Sunday mornings out of the year.

The Upstate Wedding Trio's contact page has a listing of all fees, solo and ensemble, and all necessary contact information. All wedding ceremony fees include a consultation in pianist Don Shabkie's studio located in the North Main Greenville area. At this consultation the wedding families can discuss selections they would like to have at the wedding. Some come prepared with a list of selections they would like to have played at the wedding. Others like for Don to play different music on the piano or Celtic harp in order to get an idea of all the possibilities. By playing a reduction of the music the full group will play, those listening will know what music to expect at the wedding. At this time there is also a discussion on cues, coordination with the wedding director, and other items of interest to everyone. As a result of these meetings, the ceremony music features the music the brides and families want, and all the cues flow seamlessly.

The two Sarah's are available to play anywhere in the upstate area. If you live in Greenville, SC, Spartanburg, SC, Simpsonville, Travelers Rest, Greenwood, Pickens, Easley, or any other cities in between, why not contact them right away? Nearby cities in North Carolina include Asheville, Brevard, and Hendersonville. Are you getting married at the Symmes Chapel (Pretty Place)? Strings are a great choice for that location.
