Kenneth MacCallum
Bagpipes

Kenneth MacCallum has played the pipes at numerous weddings over the years, (including his own), and at many special events in upstate South Carolina. As a bagpipe performer he can give your wedding a unique flair that would make your ceremony an event to remember. He can play anywhere— outdoors, indoors, in a church, in a garden—wherever you've planned. He plays a small set of pipes as well as a large, and Kenneth will be glad to have a consultation with you so you can determine which you prefer. You can contact Kenneth, or read on.

As one of many bagpipe players in Greenville, SC, he is dedicated to the Scottish tradition (including the Scottish attire), as well as high artistic standards. As a charter member of the Piedmont Highlanders Pipe Band (founded in 1974) Kenneth is one of only a few players in the band today that has performed in all of the years of the band's existence. The Piedmont Highlanders Pipe Band is now called The City of Greenville Pipes and Drums, COGPAD.

In addition to weddings, Kenneth has twice soloed on the pipes in productions of Brigadoon, with one performance at Thornwell School in Clinton, SC and another at USC-Spartanburg. He has also performed at area pastoral installations in churches as well as dedication ceremonies for several newly built church sanctuaries. At the "National Day of Prayer" ceremony in downtown Greenville, Kenneth was a featured performer as well.

His pipe band was featured at the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, Tennessee, and it performed twice at EPCOT. The band also performed at two Rod Stewart concerts in Atlanta, Georgia, and also at the Bi-Lo Center. This band hosted the Greater Greenville Highland Games and Scottish Festival held at Furman University in June of this year.

On Sunday November 4, 2007, Kenneth performed with some of the other musicians on this site. The concert was at at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Sponsored by Carolina First, this event was one of three concerts on the Trinity Presbyterian Concert Series.
